Where did the idea for No, Thank you come from, and why'd you use it?
Well, for a short period of time, My best friend (Aka: May) was crushing on my other best friend (Aka: Very loosely Eli) But she wouldn’t tell him. I offered to several times, but she denied. When she finally told him, it turned out that he didn’t like her back. A little bit after that, he and I began to talk on the phone all the time, which led to my mother thinking that we were into each other. (Most certainly not!) But then I got to thinking, and that whole idea seemed very interesting, and since I had nothing else to do, and the story was practically begging to be told, I made No, Thank You. :>
Why do Olivia, Hayden and May have beards in the epilogue?
They were having a sleepover, and what’s more fun than dressing up as your favorite character from some movie? And that ‘Some movie’ was Pirates of the Caribbean. I figure that the three of them would love that movie series. Olivia drew on a squiggly beard and threw on a hat and Velcro-hands-and-feet monkey doll and TADA she was Barbossa, Hayden slathered on some eyeliner, drew some facial hairs and vuala! She’s Jack Sparrow. May makes a few lines and what-do-ya-know she’s Will Turner! And, as to why they’re male characters- Well, they just wanted to be. Gosh.
Who was your favorite character to develop?
Ahhh oh this is a hard one! I’d have to say Olivia. I won’t elaborate too much, for fear that I’ll spoil something for you in a later chapter, but Olivia was just a fun character to have in the first place, and her personality was really entertaining to create. She’s also a very real character, and has flaws that can sometimes jeopardize her friendship with May and Hayden, but she always finds a way to stay with them, because she’s their BFF, yanno?~
Who is that FAQ chibi and why does she have that stupid looking hat?
The chibi is me, le’ author of this comic~. I thought about having the characters be the custom page chibis, but I thought that that was too unoriginal, so I decided that I shall host the custom pages! >:D That stupid hat is actually (an orange version of) Chowder’s hat ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chowder_(TV_series) ) Because I like Chowder and I like orange. C: Also, the jacket I’m wearing is supposed to look like the jacket my Aunt let me have from her days of being a VICA student. That jacket is older than I am by about 2 years, and that’s cool, yo.
How did Hayden, Olivia, and May meet?
How do all friends meet? To tell the truth, I never really thought about it. They probably wouldn’t remember how they met themselves. My guess is that they all sat at the same lunch table in fourth grade or something, and really hit it off, and then just… kind of became friends, undecidedly. You know how it goes. ;D
How do you create your comic pages?
So far, I’ve used three ways: Oekaki, Photoshop, and Traditional. I’ll probably experiment with the comics to find what feels right, and I haven’t found it yet, so pretty much every way under the sun. And for those of you looking for a good in-depth answer: For my photoshopped pages, I sketch out the comic on a normal sketchpad paper, then scan it into my computer, where I then panel, ink, and color it in photoshop. It takes me about 4 hours or so, not counting the sketching.
How long do you think this comic will be?
Do you have the whole story planned out?
Ahhhh. No. And I hope to keep it that way, because when I plan a whole story it, it becomes veeery boring for me to work on. To the point where I stop working on it. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen with No, Thank you. It’s off to a good start, I pray it doesn’t go downhill. Those of you wanting spoilers should know it’ll be filled with (probably obvious) drama and stuff.
